Amaya Vintage Rug

Vintage Persian carpets inspired our boho botanical rug, featuring a geometric medallion framed by trailing floral vines and graphic borders. Woven of wool and cotton, the sheared pile offers natural softness and enduring quality.

• Hand woven from 54% cotton and 46% wool.
• Backing is made of recycled cotton with synthetic latex.
• Synthetic latex provides a more durable and flexible backing that reduces odor and extends the rug's life. It does not present a risk to those with latex allergies and can be safer for people who are allergic to proteins.
• Use with our Rug Pad (sold separately).

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

• Vacuum regularly on a low powered setting, using a vacuum without a beater brush, to prevent debris from settling into the roots of the fibres. For best results, vacuum from different directions, making several passes over the area.
• Spot clean. Remove soil with a soft brush. Remove spills immediately; If liquid, blot with a clean undyed cloth by pressing firmly around the spill to absorb as much as possible. For hard to remove stains, professional cleaning is recommended.
• Avoid direct and continuous exposure to sunlight. Use rug protectors under the legs of heavy furniture to avoid flattening piles.
• Natural fibres can become dry and brittle over time with use and may crack or break off, resulting in shedding. Shedding of loose fibres is also normal with new rugs and a natural result of being handmade, shedding should diminish with regular vacuuming and proper care.
• Do not pool loose ends. Clip them with scissors to remove.
• Due to the natural fibres and craftsmanship, minor imperfections may appear in the weave. These are not defects but common occurrences in items of this nature.
• To protect your investment, we recommend using a rug pad. A rug pad provides traction between the rug and floor to prevent slipping. It adds padding and keeps the rug smooth and flat. Extending the life of the rug, a pad protects the backing and prevents any possible colour transfer.
• Caution: Use vacuum cleaner without beater brush as it may cause damage.
• Rotate or reposition your rug and/or rug pad every 3 to 6 months. This will aide in a more uniform floor surface patina and decrease the likelihood of the rug pad or exposed backing adhering to the floor surface where they are placed. Rotating your rug will promote even wear on the surface and extend the life of the rug.
• Do not place rugs on hardwood floors that have not had time to completely cure.
